A subsidiary of a large national health insurance provider within the United States suffered a substantial data security event exposing members’ personal data and yielding significant HIPAA violation fines. Client’s production data footprint was approximately 4PBs across structured and unstructured environments with data stakeholders existing across the legal, data security, and data governance departments. These disparate teams struggled to manage the organization’s substantial data as a collaborative unit
